Job Summary:
The Postdoctoral Fellow provides for an internship and continuation of scholarly activity and research after achieving the PhD or other doctoral degree under the direction of a senior faculty member who serves as a mentor for the postdoctoral appointee.
Additional Department Summary:
The Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering Department at The University of Alabama is seeking a candidate for a Postdoctoral fellow position. This position is available to individuals with research interests and expertise in experimental hydraulics and turbulence measurements/theory, and data analysis. Successful candidates will hold a terminal degree in Civil Engineering or a related field and demonstrate a record of academic achievement in research, including peer reviewed manuscripts in topics related to experimental hydraulics and turbulence. Initial appointments are for one year, with renewal contingent upon demonstration of research productivity and funding
Required Department Minimum Qualifications:
Ph.D. or other terminal degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
Skills and Knowledge:
Experience in conducting Particle Imaging Velocity (PIV) measurements, Laser Induced Florence (LIF) and developing codes for image processing for computing flow statistics are required.
Preferred Qualifications:
