Job Description
Job Overview Join our vibrant early childhood education team as a Preschool Assistant, where your enthusiasm and dedication will help create a nurturing, engaging environment for young learners. In this role, you will support lead teachers in implementing curriculum plans, managing classroom activities, and fostering positive interactions with children. Your energy and compassion will contribute to the development of foundational skills in literacy, math, social-emotional learning, and more. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on children's early years while gaining valuable classroom experience. Duties Assist lead teachers with lesson planning and implementing age-appropriate activities that promote literacy, math, and social skills Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and helping maintain a safe, organized learning environment Engage children in hands-on activities that stimulate curiosity and support early childhood development Provide attentive care for toddlers and preschoolers, including diapering, feeding, and supervising outdoor play Collaborate with teachers to adapt instruction for children with special needs or disabilities, including those with autism or behavioral challenges Help monitor progress of individual students and communicate observations to lead staff for tailored support Maintain cleanliness and organization of classroom materials and learning spaces Skills Strong understanding of early childhood education principles and childhood development milestones Experience in classroom management and behavior management techniques Knowledge of special education strategies, including working with individuals with autism or disabilities Ability to develop engaging lesson plans focused on literacy education, math concepts, and curriculum development Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and team members Familiarity with Montessori or other child-centered teaching philosophies is a plus Prior preschool or daycare experience is highly valued; private school experience is advantageous Compassionate approach to working with children of diverse backgrounds, including toddlers and those requiring specialized care Ability to work collaboratively within a team dedicated to nurturing young learners Join us in shaping the future by supporting the growth of our youngest students!
