2015-certified contract precision metal manufacturing company serving Fortune 500 customers from our Brookings, SD facility. We are growing and looking to add a skilled Press Brake Operator to our 1st Shift team. This role is well suited for an experienced operator who enjoys variety in their work, as production consists of small- to medium-quantity runs with frequent setups. You'll work with a supportive team in a clean, organized shop environment where quality, safety, and continuous improvement are valued. Quality Tool is looking for experienced Press Brake Operators to set-up and operate a variety of Press Brakes. This is a full-time, skilled position in our Brookings, SD location. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Set-up and run forming operations with tolerances of +/- .010" to +/- .030" on .036 gauge to .500 thick materials.
  • Set-up and run CNC controlled press brakes.
  • Inspect work, making necessary notations on work routers.
  • Reviews job/production orders and interprets accompanying prints and drawings to determine job requirements, check for accuracy of information, and identify any discrepancies or special needs.
  • Ensures that all work is done in accordance with and adheres to Company ISO and Quality standards.
  • Prepares and cleans product surfaces, as necessary, for desired operation.
  • Communication with each operator at your shift change (let them know what's going on or coming up).
  • Troubleshoot production problems.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills & Abilities:
  • Understands and promotes company's mission, values and quality policy.
  • Exhibits the personal characteristics we value of good attitude, intelligence, integrity and humility.
  • General working knowledge of metal fabrication.
  • Ability to read and understand job specifications, shop drawings and blueprints.
  • Strong mathematical aptitude.
  • Experience inspecting your own parts using various dimensional tools such as calipers, micrometers and gages.
  • Good judgement, decision making and communications skills.
  • Good attendance and punctuality and willingness to work overtime as needed.
  • Ability to work well with others in a manufacturing/fabrication environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for 8-12 hours.
  • Reliable transportation. Required Education & Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in setting up and operating a Press Brake.
  • Minimum High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Completion of an apprenticeship program, technical or trade school training program is a plus.
