Position Details:
Mercy Clinic Primary Care - Edmond Signal Ridge Full-Time; 40 hours/week, M-F 8am-5pm Accepting applications for MA, LPN, or EMT/Paramedic! This position will support a busy pediatrician. Daily workflows will include rooming, vitals, giving injections, assisting the providers with any in-office procedures offered in the clinic, as well as back-office work such as prescription refills, prior authorizations, and prescription refills. Must be confident and able to communicate effectively with patients and parents.
Overview:
Prepares patient for visit with provider by completing Advanced Standard room process including entering the chief complaint; taking patient vital signs; reviewing patient history and allergies; completing a thorough medication reconciliation; working the Encounter Guide including helping to close any open care gaps such as fall risk, depression screening, breast cancer screening, colorectal cancer screening, and diabetic eye exams; rechecking elevated blood pressures; and completing needed documentation in Epic for yearly preventative visits as needed. Assists with any needed in-office testing including, but not limited to, drawing blood, completing mental status exams, EKG's, walking oxygen studies and point of care testing. Administer vaccines and other injections within scope of practice. Schedules follow up appointments when needed per office policy. Collaborates with providers and clinical care team to monitor and coordinate delivery of the care plan.
Medical Assistant Qualifications:
Medical Assistant:
Education:
High School Diploma or GED.
Certification:
Must obtain BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
Preferred Experience:
6 months of clinical healthcare experience, preferably in pediatrics.
Certified Medical Assistant:
Education:
High School Diploma or GED.
Certification:
Must have active Medical Assistant certification/registration (RMA, CCMA, CMA) or EMT/Paramedic is also accepted. Must obtain BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
LPN Qualifications:
Education:
Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program.
Licensure:
Active LPN or RN Experience:
