Job Description

THK Manufacutring of America, INC is looking for a Process Quality Engineer to join our manufacturing plant in Hebron, Ohio. This individual is responsible for leading quality and continuous improvement initiatives within a manufacturing environment across their assigned areas. Responsibilities include driving cost reduction efforts, improving product flow and operational efficiency, and utilizing structured problem-solving methodologies such as PDCA, 8D, 5-Why, and Fishbone Analysis to identify root causes and implement sustainable corrective actions.
Major Responsibilities Instruction:
Follow direction from management in completing assigned tasks while actively participating in identifying solutions and improving operational challenges through evaluation and measurement of processes. Conduct operational studies to maximize workflow, space utilization, production flow, and quality KPIs, including COPQ reduction and efficiency improvements.
Planning:
Establish project timelines, monitor progress, and provide status updates and summaries to management to ensure projects remain on track and aligned with business objectives.
Troubleshooting:
Identify and resolve problems while developing and executing objectives for self and others. Utilize structured problem-solving and root cause analysis methods such as PDCA, 8D, 5-Why, and Fishbone Analysis to drive both short-term corrective actions and long-term improvements.
Support:
Assist in coordinating projects necessary to achieve manufacturing and quality goals. Support quality checklists, continuous improvement initiatives, and assigned projects while partnering with cross-functional teams to expand and improve automation utilization.
Reporting and Records:
Prepare and present reports for upper management regarding project status, quality metrics, and improvement initiatives. Lead process quality engineering discussions during management review meetings.
Communication:
Maintain high-engagement communication with internal and external stakeholders to support collaboration, root cause investigations, and continuous improvement efforts.
Documentation:
Maintain, review, and improve documentation in accordance with document control procedures. Review and approve SOPs, deviations, change control requests, corrective and preventive action plans (CAPAs), FAIs, and other quality records to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
Other:
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Background Requirement Education:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or in Scheduling; or its equivalent in combined education and experience. A minimum of 2 years' experience in a Technical or Quality position within a manufacturing environment. Possesses strong Quality Assurance knowledge and understanding.
Additional Experience:
Experience with SPC and Lean methodologies, knowledgeable in SMED and DOE, experience in application of FMEA and risk mitigation, working knowledge and application of
ISO 9001
