Job Description

This is a full-time direct hire permanent position with our client.
Hours Available:
1st shift
  • 7:00am to 3:30pm ($27.00
  • 29.00 per hour). 2nd shift
  • 3:00pm-11:30am ($29.00
  • 31.00 per hour). 3rd shift

00 per hour) . Job description The Process Technician is responsible for maintaining the control of processes in injection molding, molding/tool changes, set-ups, and start-ups of molding. Additionally, this position is required to troubleshoot problems and correct parameters to maintain quality and efficient production.
Essential Functions:
Perform processing adjustments on injection molding equipment, auxiliary support equipment, material handling systems, and robotics to maintain quality and production. Efficiently complete mold changes, set-ups, and start-ups according to established procedures to ensure customer demands are met. Ensure that all safety devices are properly in place, including lockout/tag out procedures to eliminate the risk of injury. Start-up/shut down of machinery, manifold controllers, cooling systems, valve gate systems, material loading systems, and power supplies to achieve standard operating efficiencies. Analyze and trouble-shoot machine-related problems, providing technical guidance and taking appropriate corrective measures to minimize downtime. Respond to all machine, robot, and secondary equipment alarms in a timely manner to maintain operating efficiencies and maximize profitability. Work closely with Operator Supervisors, Lead Operators, QA Inspectors, and Press Operators to improve product flow, quality, and reduce scrap. Monitor tooling condition and document tooling damage and/or processing issues to prevent avoidable molding problems and higher repair cost. Maintain a positive presence while performing job duties to help promote a good work environment. Train Mold Set Up Technicians to understand, measure, & use key processing parameters and injection molding principles to minimize scrap and increase profitability. Implement and monitor real-time process monitoring systems for assigned production jobs, utilizing data as necessary. Assist in establishing process control limits (tolerances) for production to ensure part consistency and quality. Ensure accuracy, completeness, and updates of all production and processing related documentation. Knowledge, Education, Experience and/or
Certifications:
Three to five years of related injection molding processing experience and/or training, or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read and comprehend directions, procedures, instructions, specifications, and setup sheets to determine correct machine setup. Knowledge of automation and robot operations.
Skills & Abilities:
Demonstrated abilities in plastic processing control, improvement, debugging, and cycle time reduction. Strong mechanical aptitude. Communicate effectively with co-workers and management. Read and interpret documents such as Picture Packet, IOP, procedure manual, and safety rules. Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures.
