Job Description

Description:
Our organization is seeking to fulfill the role of Processing Quality Assurance Technician to efficiently and accurately perform tasks related to the testing of products, collection of samples, inspection of equipment, and the maintenance and implementation of plant food safety and quality programs. This role reports directly to the Quality Assurance Supervisor as responsibilities fall under the scope of the QAFS management systems.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Conduct and document a variety of applicable tests and analyses on products to determine compliance with internal and customer specifications Use various lab equipment including and not limited to: Hegman gauge, spectrophotometer, screen shaker, computer, scale Perform equipment inspection to ensure sanitary conditions for operation Aseptically collect and prepare product samples for analysis by third parties Maintain communication with operations and management and notify them of issues that may restrict production. Report any food safety and quality related issues to management immediately Verify food safety and quality checks performed by operations are true, accurate, and in compliance with plant SOPs. Place product on hold as necessary, complete the proper documentation, and inform production shift supervisor and management. Follow Good Manufacturing Practices Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe work area. Assist in the management of documentation and records in order to ensure that they are complete, current, secure, and easily retrievable. Follow QA lab methods, procedures, and protocols as needed for quality product analysis Maintain a laboratory environment that is clean, orderly, and safe Understand and comply with all food safety and food manufacturing policies/procedures Perform other duties as assigned
Required Skills & Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent Preferred knowledge of Food Safety Systems, CFR, FSMA, GFSI, HACCP, GMPs, etc. Preferred experience with food manufacturing products, preferably peanut processing
