Shape the Future of Defense Acquisition Are you a seasoned, visionary acquisition leader ready to make a significant impact on national security? The Washington Headquarters Services (WHS) Acquisition Directorate is seeking a high-impact Supervisory Procurement Analyst to lead a team of federal acquisition professionals and drive strategic policy initiatives. This is not a typical procurement role. You will operate in a high-visibility environment with direct exposure to Senior Executive Service (SES) leadership, shaping the very framework of our acquisition processes. We are looking for a strategic thinker who can navigate complex policy landscapes, inspire a team of experts, and champion innovative acquisition solutions. Your Role and Responsibilities As a key member of our leadership team, you will be entrusted with:
Supervisory Leadership & Mentorship:
Lead, supervise, and develop a team of civilian procurement professionals. Provide guidance on complex acquisition challenges, foster professional growth, and handle all aspects of federal employee management, including performance, training, and employee relations.
Strategic Policy & Oversight:
Serve as a subject matter expert on federal procurement laws and regulations (FAR, DFARS). You will analyze, interpret, and implement acquisition policy, providing authoritative guidance to senior leadership and program managers.
Acquisition Process Innovation:
Drive continuous improvement within the directorate. You will identify and spearhead initiatives to streamline acquisition processes, reduce procurement lead times, and implement cutting-edge acquisition strategies, including the use of Other Transaction Authority (OTA) and Rapid Fielding Office (RFO) concepts.
High-Level Stakeholder Engagement:
Represent the Acquisition Directorate in high-level meetings and integrated project teams (IPTs). Brief and advise senior WHS and DoD leadership on complex procurement strategies, policy decisions, and acquisition risks.
Candidate Profile:
What You Bring We are seeking candidates who have a mastery-level understanding of federal acquisition and a proven history of leadership.
Required Qualifications:
Extensive Federal Supervisory Experience:
Demonstrated experience leading, managing, and mentoring a team of federal employees (civilian or military) in an acquisition-related field.
Senior-Level Acquisition Expertise:
Mastery of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) with a proven track record of applying this knowledge to complex, high-dollar value acquisitions.
Strategic Acumen:
Experience developing and implementing acquisition strategies for major programs or initiatives, with a clear understanding of the full acquisition lifecycle. U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance. Desired Qualifications (Highly Qualified Candidates will possess one or more): Experience with innovative acquisition methods, such as Other Transaction Agreements (OTAs). DAWIA Level III certification in Contracting or a related field. Experience in a headquarters or strategic policy-focused acquisition environment.
