Job Description Product Quality Engineer Setting/Hours:
100% In-Office | Mon-Fri Join trak group in partnering with a growing client in Fairfield, Ohio that's expanding its Manufacturing team.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Completed accredited training programs applicable to assigned tasks and supported by documented experience.
Experience Requirements:
  • Three (3) years'experience in a Quality-related position within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in an ISO/AS certified company.
  • Gas turbine, power generation, and/or rotating equipment experience is highly desirable.
  • Strong mechanical and/or electrical background with knowledge of mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and P&IDs.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and machining processes.
Purpose:
To develop, implement, and continually improve quality systems related to manufacturing, assembly, and testing processes to achieve minimal internal and external defects and maintain compliance with AS9100 and customer requirements.
Position Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to quality performance and suggest improvement initiatives. 2. Support quality planning and compliance by integrating AS9100 and customer-specific requirements into quality plans, inspections, and process controls. 3. Assist in monitoring quality performance, support root cause analysis, and assist in implementing corrective and preventive actions under the direction of the Quality Manager. 4. Lead supplier quality management activities, including supplier evaluations, Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs), and supplier performance tracking. 5. Provide support to the RMA Coordinator as needed for Return Material Authorization (RMA) activities. 6. Act as backup for incoming, in-process, and final inspections as needed to support production and delivery schedules. 7. Assist and/or lead MRB (Material Review Board) activities to ensure timely disposition and closure of nonconformance reports (NCRs). 8. Review material certifications, outside service vendor (OSV) certifications, and other quality records for completeness and compliance to purchase order and drawing requirements. 9. Assist in calibration oversight, verifying status of measurement and test equipment, and identifying needs for new or replacement tooling. 10. Conduct drawing and specification reviews to verify accuracy between 2D prints and 3D models;ensure tolerances are appropriate for manufacturing capabilities. 11. Provide technical and engineering support for issues related to new products, new customers, and qualification of new processes or personnel. 12. Support Engineering in process development, equipment selection, and process flow improvements. 13. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and cross-functional problem-solving teams. 14. Serve as backup to the Quality Manager for work order and purchase order (PO) reviews and approvals. 15. Participate in customer and supplier visits, audits, and reviews as requested by the Quality Manager. 16. Perform dimensional checks using precision equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and the FARO Edge scanning arm. 17. Perform other duties or special projects as assigned by Management or the Quality Manager.
Quality Responsibilities:
1. Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of non-conformities related to product, processes, and quality system. 2. Identify and record any problems related to the product, process, or quality system. 3. Initiate, propose, or provide solutions through designated channels. 4. Verify, or participate in the verification of implemented solutions. 5. Control further processing or delivery of non-conforming product until the non-conformity has been corrected. 6. Represent the needs of the customer in internal functions related to the Quality Management System.
Other Duties:
Perform and other duties, assignments, or special projects that may be assigned required by Management.
Expected Skills & Training:
1. High level of proficiency with
Microsoft Office:
Excel, Word, & PowerPoint. 2. Ability to read CAD / technical drawings. 3. Experience with multi-level bills of material. 4. Experience leading problem-solving processes and use of basic quality tools. 5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 6. Be aware of and follow Company Instruction, Company Policies & Procedures, and ISO systems under which the Company is registered.
Work Environment:
The incumbent for this position must be able to perform the function of this job requiring the following physical demands: lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling;some climbing and balancing;frequent stooping, kneeling crouching, and/or crawling. Generally, the job requires 50% sitting, 15% walking, and 25% standing. The jobs performed under some temperature variations and some hazardous conditions.
