Job Description

Position Overview The Product Technician supports product developers, sensory specialists, and scientists on a wide range of projects across the organization. This role is responsible for conducting precise analytical testing of ingredients and fermented products using a wide range of laboratory techniques, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and reliability of results. The Product Technician reports to the Product Manager and works with others in Research, Analytical Sciences, and Quality. Responsibilities Request, track, and maintain products for product review and evaluation program Prepare sensory training and calibration samples Set up and support internal sensory tests (product profiling, discrimination test, and acceptance tests) as needed for the sensory scientist or manager Conduct routine to complex analytical testing of ingredients and fermented products following standard laboratory procedures Operate and maintain laboratory equipment in accordance with established protocols Record, label, and manage finished product samples for immediate testing, and various shelf-life studies Ensure laboratory cleanliness, including cleaning and maintaining glassware and equipment Prepare and ship samples as needed Maintain accurate records, timely test records and ensure data integrity Perform other duties as needed Schedule and Travel Typical work hours are eight-hour days, Monday through Friday beginning at 8:00am. Occasionally schedule adjustments may be required to support project timelines. Travel is not required. Education, Training, and Experience A high school education is required The ideal candidate will have a technical degree with a focus on science. 1-3 years of laboratory experiences preferred Detail-oriented Ability to lift 30 to 50lbs Knowledge and Skills Good communication, interpersonal, and time management skills Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, are preferred Ability to work as a team member and independently Daisy Brand is the market leader in two billion-dollar categories - sour cream and cottage cheese.
