Job Description

Production Assistant is a semiautonomous position, the desired person should be self-sufficient and self-motivated. The production assistant would be a part of the team that ensures the highest possible quality product from the start of fermentation, through distillation and into maturation and bottling- always having the quality of products as a close second priority to you and your teams' safety. About the Distillery & Farm Kō Hana is currently operating four farms split between Kunia, Waialua and Haleiwa. Ko Hana Farms grows 34 distinct Hawaiian varietals of sugarcane that are destined to be transformed into the finest Hawaiian Agricole Rum by the Kō Hana Distillers team.
Expected Salary:
$40-50K depending on qualifications and experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior knowledge of Fermentation and Distillation Forklift Certified Ability to complete task by yourself and/or with a team in a timely manner General job responsibilities:
  • Operate a forklift
  • Moving and organizing pallets of Finished Goods and Raw Materials
  • Work with pumps and hoses in excess of 50 lbs.
  • Cleaning fermentation vessels
  • Warehouse maintenance & organization
  • Operate a mechanized bottling line
  • Blending of ready-to-drink cocktails
  • Proofing of Spirits
  • Logging information into computer system with ability to work with Excel.

Other Associated Factors:
  • May need to lift, pull or push 50+ pounds and stand for long hours. May be required to lift boxes, tools and various heavy implements.
  • Must be capable of sitting, squatting, standing, kneeling, bending, or walking throughout the workday and for extended periods of time.
  • Team oriented individual able to work under the direction of the Distillery Manager.
  • Maintain clean, sanitary and organized work areas.
  • Self-motivated and the ability to work independently.
  • Actively involved in Workplace Safety in a distillery and warehouse setting.
  • Ensure proper procedures are followed and takes steps to update any outdate procedures.
  • Ability to deal with problems and resolve them in a professional manner.
  • Authorized to work in the US.
  • Reliable transportation
Working Conditions:
Indoors/Outdoors- distillery and warehouse.
Work Hours:
40 hour work week- generally Monday through Friday with some weekend work necessary.
