Hours:
7:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday - Thursday, Friday 7:00 am to 11:00 am (when we are not working overtime) As a brake press operator, you will use the brake press machines (Accupress, Trumpf, and Safan Darley 35-T) to shape various types of metal. In this role, you may inspect blueprints for a project, set up your machine, perform regular maintenance, inspect metal while shaping it, and adjustments as needed.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Operates equipment to manufacture tools, equipment, and other components from sheet metal or metal plates. Prepares, sets up, and adjusts equipment as required by product plans and production schedules. Parts prep including scraping, sanding, and grinding Loading and unloading of product Ensures that there are sufficient raw materials available. Measures and aligns materials to be used. Inspects products, evaluating finished pieces for compliance with quality standards and specifications. Performs routine maintenance on the press brake. Maintains a clean work area. Use of other department systems and fabrication related equipment as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
Good communication skills Read, speak, and write the English language Work on multiple tasks at one time Work in a fast-paced environment Work independently as well as in a team environment Practice good housekeeping skills Ability to solve practical problems Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral or electronic systems Strong attention to detail Ability to apply mathematical skills
Licensing/Registration/Certification:
Required - Valid Driver's license Forklift license
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent. Brake press experience required
Physical Requirements:
Physically able to operate the equipment. Prolonged periods of standing, pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying materials. Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time. Working Conditions & Workwear Requirements This position will be working primarily indoors where the work area is heated, but not air-conditioned. You will be working around industrial equipment and the noise level is usually moderate but can be higher in some areas at times. You will be required to wear a full steel-toe safety boot with internal met guard, DeGeest shirts (provided by the company), safety glasses, earplugs, and appropriate attire for the position -Leathers for welding, gloves, apron, etc. We offer a full benefits package: 10 company paid holidays Medical Delta Dental Vision Short-term/Long-term Disability (employee paid) Flexible Spending account Voluntary Life Insurance and AD&D DeGeest provides a $25,000 Life insurance and AD&D policy at no cost to the employee 401(k) Each year the Employer makes a discretionary matching contribution.
