About Us For over 40 years, LD Signs (Design Ventures) has produced custom industrial signage for petrochemical clients and their world-renowned service providers. We're known for quality, precision, and fast turnaround. Our clients trust us to get it right; that's why they keep coming back. The Role We're looking for a Production Manager (in the Baytown Area) to lead our shop floor team in Baytown, TX. You will manage the daily operations of our production floor, making sure work gets out the door accurately and on time, every time. You don't need to walk in knowing any sign production system. Our team already knows, and is anxious to teach the use of our amazing equipment and the production processes involved. What we need is someone who knows how to lead people. You will manage a small team of under 20, and your job is to keep them working safely, focused, efficient, and producing at the level our clients expect. That means giving clear direction, providing honest feedback, and holding everyone accountable, including yourself. This team is made up of nice, hard working people anxious to do what they are told and willing to go the extra mile to make you successful. This role is not for someone who avoids difficult conversations. Production moves fast and the standards are high. If someone is falling behind, you need to address it directly and constructively. Not to be harsh, but because feedback is how people grow and how the team becomes stronger. If that comes naturally to you, keep reading. You will learn our products, materials, and equipment over time. What matters from day one is that you can ask the right questions, understand what needs to happen, and start making it happen. What You Will Do Lead and manage the daily operations of the production floor Ask the right questions. If needed, provide additional resources or constructive feedback to team members on efficiency, performance and quality Communicate with sales and management to align production with customer history and expectations Monitor quality at every stage and address issues before they reach the customer Use our computer system and your communication skills to set priorities, update production status, monitor materials and supplies, and ensure all work is QC'd and completed in time to be shipped / ready to ship or picked up when promised Foster a team culture built on accountability, respect, and pride in their work What You Bring A business mindset with proven experience managing or supervising a production team, shop floor, or crew The ability to lead different personalities and earn respect through consistency and fairness Comfort with giving direct feedback and having honest conversations about performance Strong organizational skills and the ability to keep multiple jobs moving at once Sufficient computer experience including operating systems and software awareness Experience in signage, printing, manufacturing, or a similar production environment is a plus, but not required.
