Production Planner

Job Description This position is accountable for the development and implementation of an effective planning, forecasting, and allocation strategy to support the company's business objectives. Primarily responsible for the planning of approximately 4,000 items, including finished goods. Maintains a dynamic demand profile and production plan through monthly forecasting techniques utilizing SOP, forecast transfers and daily MRP runs. Communicates with various functional leaders to guarantee smooth efficient operations and delivery of products to primary locations. Performs related duties as assigned by supervisor. LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in a related field. 4-7 years of forecasting, demand planning or sales analysis experience; exceptional analytical skills, strategic thinker and ability to read and identify business trends. APICS certification or currently pursuing certification.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variable.
