Job Description

Description Amazon Leo is Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. Its mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet to customers and communities around the world, and we've designed the system with the capacity, flexibility, and performance to serve a wide range of customers, from individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity.
Export Control Requirement:
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum As the Manufacturing Quality Manager for a Line Replaceable unit at Amazon Leo, you will be directly responsible for the production process development, introduction, improvement, & maintenance of a key module on our next generation spacecraft. You'll be the leading technical voice for a team of quality engineers working on the product, solving challenging technical problems associated with delivering an ultra-high-performing optical, electrical, and mechatronic module to space. Key job responsibilities
  • Taking ownership of quality management system processes for satellite production
  • Leading quality engineers, inspectors, and technicians in deployment of proactive QA measures alongside production demands
  • Reporting metrics, coaching team members, and guiding QMS enhancements and improvements
  • Coaching on Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Statistical Process Control (SPC) tools
  • Drive improvement for yield improvement
  • Daily leadership call for provide the updates for high severity issue
  • Manage Production QE, Production QE and Quality Inspector team
  • Lead the containment activity and root cause investigation for high severity to product and business.
  • Leading root-cause corrective actions and participating in Material Review Board (MRB) activities.
  • Manage the block stock inventory and lead the site to disposition the non conformance that found at incoming quality and warehouse block stock inventory.
  • Provide coaching and lead process flow diagrams, PFMEAs, control plans, MSAs, SPC and other APQP artifacts to support continued high quality production.
  • Support operations team directly by being a high solving power engineer, capable of bringing multiple diverging technical perspectives together in high pressure escalation moments such as quality containment.
  • Working within an AS9100 (or similar) certified quality system
  • Conduct rigorous Continuous Improvement activities to prevent recurrence of non-conformances during assembly.
  • Implements the Leo's Quality System through process development and launch mechanisms.
A day in the life You will serve as a key lynchpin connection design/development, factory operations, quality engineering, program management, and more as you drive the manufacturing processes, we use from initial production introduction to full rate production. You will leverage your expertise in Quality System and design to partner with development on the design of future iterations of the system and sub-assembly and our associated production test systems & tooling. Basic Qualifications
  • 5+ years' experience in large product assembly quality engineering, manufacturing, or operations throughout a production lifecycle development.
  • BS in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years of data analysis using tools such as Excel, Pivot Tables, SQL, Tableau, or equivalent experience

Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
