1st Shift Your Impact - Big and Bold! Lead and develop a team of hourly employees while overseeing day-to-day manufacturing operations at the facility. This role is accountable for ensuring that all Morgan cargo products consistently meet or exceed internal standards and customer quality expectations through strong leadership, process discipline, and continuous improvement. What a Day inYour Life Looks Like:
Production Planning & Control — Plan, organize, and lead work teams to consistently meet production schedules and operational targets. Safety & Workplace Standards — Maintain safe working conditions, promote safe work practices, and ensure high standards of housekeeping across the production area. Continuous Improvement — Drive process and method improvements to increase productivity, reduce costs, and enhance product quality. Team Development & Performance — Train, coach, motivate, and develop employees to achieve high performance, efficiency, and engagement. Policy Compliance & Communication — Ensure clear understanding and consistent application of company policies, standards, and procedures within the team. Performance Management — Address performance and conduct issues through fair, timely, and consistent disciplinary practices aligned with established procedures. Bottleneck Management — Identify production constraints and bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions to maintain efficient workflow. Materials Flow Coordination — Ensure timely availability and flow of materials to support uninterrupted production. Equipment & Resource Readiness — Ensure teams have the proper tools, equipment, and resources to perform work safely and effectively. Operational Support — Perform additional duties as assigned to support overall manufacturing and business objectives. What You Bring to theTable:
Education & Experience — Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Initiative & Problem Solving — Demonstrated ability to anticipate issues, respond proactively, and implement effective changes as needed. Lean Manufacturing Knowledge — Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles; hands-on application is an asset. Communication & Accountability — Excellent communication skills paired with strong personal accountability and a sense of urgency. People Leadership & Training — Proven experience training, supervising, and developing employees, with a demonstrated record of career progression. Cross-Functional Communication — Strong ability to communicate effectively across multiple levels and functions within the organization. Independent Work Ethic — Capable of working independently while managing priorities and maintaining accountability. Technical & Blueprint Literacy — Experience interpreting schematics and blueprints, with exposure to AutoCAD or similar design tools. Mentorship & Coaching — Strong commitment to mentoring and developing others through hands-on leadership and guidance. Cross-Functional Project Leadership — Experience leading multi-functional teams and projects to successful outcomes. Leadership Under Pressure — Proven ability to lead teams in structured, fast-paced, and continuously changing environments. Ownership & Results Orientation — Strong ownership of outcomes with a high level of responsibility for team and operational performance. Proactive Leadership — Consistently proactive in approach, addressing challenges before they escalate.
