Job Description
Job DescriptionJob Description Madden Industrial Craftsmen is seeking a Project Accountant for our client, a heavy industrial fabrication and field services company, in NE Portland, OR. This role focuses on project-based accounting, including invoicing, job costing, accounts payable/receivable, and financial tracking across multiple job sites. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with an accounting background to grow into more advanced accounting and financial responsibilities within a fast-paced industrial environment.

PM Position Type:
Full-Time Key Responsibilities Manage purchase orders (POs) including creation, tracking, and documentation across multiple locations Enter and maintain purchase orders and sales orders in QuickBooks Assign sales order numbers and support job costing, job tracking, and historical order inquiries Process invoicing for completed work and ensure billing accuracy in coordination with operations teams Manage and monitor time entry across multiple locations to support payroll and job costing Resolve missing or incorrect time entries with field supervisors and project teams Enter vendor invoices and support accounts payable (AP) functions Reconcile company credit card transactions and maintain accurate financial records Assist with accounts receivable (AR) processes and financial tracking Support general ledger (GL) activities including reconciliations, analysis, and reporting Assist with bank reconciliations, month-end, and year-end accounting processes Coordinate travel arrangements including flights, hotels, and rental vehicles for field teams Handle time-sensitive and occasional after-hours travel changes and requests Maintain organized financial and project documentation across all locations Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance with accounting-focused coursework (major or minor required) Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to manage multiple priorities across locations and deadlines Clear and professional communication skills Ability to handle confidential financial and personnel information Ability to work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced environment Preferred Qualifications Internship or experience in accounting, finance, or project-based environments Familiarity with job costing and project accounting Experience in construction, fabrication, or multi-location operations Exposure to general ledger, reconciliations, or financial reporting Benefits Medical Dental Paid Sick Leave Paid Holidays 401(k) Work Environment This role operates in an office environment supporting field-based project operations across multiple locations.
