Job Description

Position Overview A design driven architectural practice based in Reston, Virginia is seeking a Project Architect to join its collaborative team. The ideal candidate is a skilled communicator and problem solver who can guide projects from early concept through construction while balancing design integrity, technical accuracy, and client expectations. This role is suited for someone who is comfortable coordinating across disciplines, managing project documentation, and contributing to a positive team culture.

Key ResponsibilitiesLead the development of architectural drawings and technical documents from schematic design through construction administrationCoordinate project workflow and collaborate closely with consultants, engineers, and internal team membersOversee building code compliance, zoning requirements, and permitting processesConduct site visits, review submittals, respond to RFIs, and provide construction phase supportPrepare presentation materials including diagrams, renderings, and client meeting contentAssist with project schedules, staffing coordination, and quality control reviewsSupport the design process with strong attention to detail, problem solving skills, and technical insightQualificationsProfessional degree in Architecture5 to 8+ years of architectural experience, preferably including work on Data Center and Mission Critical projectsStrong proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Adobe Creative SuiteUnderstanding of building systems, construction methods, and documentation standardsExperience with code research, permitting, and coordination with consultantsExcellent communication, organization, and time management skillsArchitectural licensure or active pursuit of licensure preferred
