Medical, dental, vision Sterling Engineering is looking for a Project / Resident Engineer. This opportunity is with a collaborative engineering firm supporting municipal infrastructure and utility improvement projects.Job Duties:
Support planning, design, and construction phases of municipal infrastructure and utility projects. Perform field investigations, construction observation, and documentation. Assist with engineering reports, design calculations, plans, and specifications. Coordinate with contractors, municipalities, and internal technical teams. Review shop drawings, pay applications, RFIs, and change orders under senior engineer guidance. Monitor construction activities for compliance with plans, specifications, and regulatory requirements. Support permitting submissions and coordination with regulatory agencies. Contribute to both design and construction oversight from project initiation through completion.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field. 3-5 years of experience in municipal engineering, sewer system analysis, or related infrastructure work. Experience with hydrology and hydraulic modeling tools such as EPA SWMM, PCSWWM, HydroFlow, HEC-HMS, or similar preferred. Familiarity with IDOT documentation requirements and CMMS. Experience with construction inspection and municipal improvement projects. Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred; candidates on PE track encouraged. Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
