Position Summary:
The Project Technician is responsible for supporting and executing renovation and room-turn projects across the Community, with a primary focus on apartment remodels, unit turns, and common area improvements. This role ensures projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to Century Park Associates' quality and aesthetic standards, while minimizing disruption to residents and operations. The Project Technician reports to the Campus Maintenance Director or designee.Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required • Minimum of one (1) year experience in maintenance, construction, renovations, or room-turn/project work preferred Experience with apartment turns, remodeling, or commercial/residential renovation projects strongly preferred Working knowledge of carpentry, painting, drywall, basic electrical and plumbing systems preferred Familiarity with local building codes and safety regulations preferredPrimary Job Responsibilities:
Below is a description of basic job duties though other related duties may become necessary as directed by supervisor.Project Room Turn Responsibilities:
Perform and support apartment turnovers, including: Wall repair, drywall, painting, and finishing Flooring repair or replacement coordination Cabinet, fixture, and hardware repair or replacement Basic plumbing and electrical repairs associated with remodels Assist with common area renovations, such as dining rooms, corridors, offices, and shared spaces Complete renovation tasks in accordance with established scopes, timelines, and quality expectations Identify and report additional repair or upgrade needs discovered during room turns or projects Maintain project readiness of units to meet occupancy or reopening timelinesMaintenance Technical Support:
Assist the Campus Maintenance Director with repair and replacement projects related to building systems Complete assigned work orders related to project areas or renovation activity Support preventive maintenance efforts to reduce future repair costs Clean and maintain work areas to ensure safety and professionalism during and after projectCoordination Support:
Coordinate with leadership, vendors, and contractors as directed Ensure tools, materials, and supplies are used properly and stored safely Assist with furniture moves, appliance installation or removal, and equipment transport Support move-ins and move-outs as related to room readiness Maintain organized documentation and communication related to project progress Assists with preventive maintenance to refurbish or replace deteriorating items and avoid future costly repairs Demonstrates energy conservation efforts community-wide (i.e., insulation of pipes, no excessive lights burning, thermostat settings, not leaving doors and windows open, wasteful use of water conservation) Advises supervisor concerning needed equipment repairs or low supplies Completes special projects as directed (i.e., room alterations, major repairs) Cleans and dust fire sprinkler heads routinely Assists in housekeeping duties were needed Handles incoming freight Lifts and moves heavy furniture and equipment Keeps grounds litter-free Assists with landscaping and lawn maintenance Keeps outside traffic areas free of with debris, snow, ice and other traffic hazards Assists with floor maintenance (i.e., shampooing carpet, stripping and waxing) Assists with resident move-in and move-out as necessaryEssential Functions:
Ability to inspect work for quality, safety, and completion standards Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English Demonstrates dependable attendance and flexibility Provides courteous and respectful service to residents, families, and staff Follows all Century Park policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements Ability to respond appropriately during emergencies, evacuations, or urgent maintenance issues Must be able to assist with preventive maintenance, repairs, and replacements Must be able to inspect equipment/systems regularly for proper functioning and safety Must be able to run errands, handle incoming and outgoing freight, and lift and move heavy furniture and equipment Must follow company policies including harassment, code of ethics, complaint procedures, safety, sanitation, confidentiality, dress code, open door, and resident rights Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents and support residents in times of crisis (i.e. natural disasters, etc.) Must be able to concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment Must be able to communicate and function in an interdisciplinary team Must be able to sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hours Must be able to lift 35 lbs. floor to waist, lift 35 lbs. waist to shoulder, lift and carry 35 lbs., and push/pull 35 lbs.:Who We Are:
