Job Description

MACO Management Co., Inc. is currently seeking a Property Manager for our affordable, low income housing community; to ensure all buildings and facilities are clean, safe, and well-maintained. The apartment manager's responsibilities include filling vacancies, responding to tenant complaints, collecting rent, managing apartment upkeep, and supervising maintenance staff. Candidate must be highly organized, have great communication skills, ability to work with the public and meet deadlines regularly with a pleasant personality. You should have excellent budgeting and interpersonal skills, an understanding of landlord-tenant laws, great communication skills, as well as strong team management skills. Responsibilities include advertising and showing vacant properties to prospective tenants, processing applications, leases and rental rates. Establishing and enforcing property rules, overseeing and resolving tenant conflicts, as well as ensuring buildings and facilities are in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations are a few of the requirements of the position. Further, managing maintenance work orders, the supply inventory, the pest control process with scheduling and inspections along with hiring, training, and monitoring staff and maintaining schedules as well as collecting or adjusting rent and security deposits, and keeping track of tenant accounts and annual recertifications and renewals will be required of the Property Manager. The position will require occasionally Investigating complaints and resolving conflicts, planning and overseeing renovations, maintenance, repairs, and services. Some daily tasks will be handling clerical and administrative tasks and filing, handling evictions and processing move-outs, ,maintaining tenant files and other duties as assigned. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Good budgeting and math skills. A working knowledge of tenant and employment laws. Excellent management, negotiation, and planning skills.
Computer literacy:
excel, power point, word. Prior experience as an apartment manager or in a similar role is preferred. Available to work on weekends, if required. We require a high school diploma, computer skills and customer service knowledge, YARDI software knowledge and previous Property Management experience preferred. Additionally, you must be able to pass a background check, have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
