Psych Nurse Practitioner

Responsibilities Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for patients across various age groups, including children, adults, and seniors. Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications following best practices and regulatory guidelines, ensuring safe and effective patient care. Provide evidence-based therapy sessions, including medication management and behavioral interventions, to promote mental wellness. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams such as psychologists, social workers, and primary care providers to coordinate comprehensive treatment strategies. Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like ChartPath or Ethizo or PCC for accurate documentation of patient encounters, medication administration, and clinical notes. Engage in clinical research initiatives to stay current with emerging mental health treatments and contribute to ongoing quality improvement projects. Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and self-care strategies to foster recovery and resilience. Requirements Valid Nurse Practitioner license with certification in psychiatric or mental health nursing (PMHNP). Proven experience working with behavioral health populations in settings such as hospitals, outpatient clinics, or assisted living facilities. Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology, including medication management for complex psychiatric conditions. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Ethizo, ChartPath or PCC for efficient documentation. Experience with telehealth platforms to deliver remote mental health services effectively. Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments including vital signs, mental status exams, and diagnostic evaluations. Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and educate patients effectively.
