Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Full-Time, On-Site (W2) + Benefits Monday-Friday, 9-5 Adult patient population (low to mid-acuity) Medication Management & TMS Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive psychiatric assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and deliver evidence-based mental health care to diverse patient populations. Duties Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, including patient history, mental status exams, and risk assessments to determine appropriate care strategies. Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications in accordance with state regulations and clinical guidelines. Develop personalized treatment plans incorporating psychotherapy, medication management, and other therapeutic modalities. Collaborate with physicians, social workers, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care. Provide crisis intervention and triage for patients experiencing acute psychiatric episodes or emergencies. Document all clinical encounters accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, medication administration, and self-care strategies. Skills Proven experience working with diverse populations including children, geriatrics, individuals with developmental disabilities, or those in assisted living or nursing home settings. Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology, including medication management for mood disorders, anxiety disorders, PTSD, and other psychiatric conditions. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for medical documentation and patient records management. Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments including vital signs, physical examinations, and behavioral health evaluations. Skilled in crisis intervention techniques, triage procedures, and acute pain management strategies. Experience with telehealth platforms to deliver remote psychiatric services effectively. Knowledge of medical terminology related to internal medicine, infectious disease care, hospice & palliative medicine, and trauma centers enhances holistic patient care. $200,000.00 - $215,000.00 per year
