Purchasing Agent

Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Agent to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing the procurement process, ensuring that our production needs are met efficiently and cost-effectively. This position requires strong analytical skills, knowledge of pipe, valves, fittings and structural materials, and supply chain management, and the ability to negotiate favorable terms with suppliers. Responsibilities Develop and implement purchasing strategies that align with company goals. Source and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery speed. Manage inventory control and maintain optimal stock levels to support production planning. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to forecast demand and ensure timely procurement of materials. Utilize systems such as to track purchases, manage inventory, and analyze supplier performance. Negotiate contracts and agreements with vendors to secure the best pricing and terms. Monitor market trends and adjust purchasing strategies accordingly. Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier information. Qualifications Proven experience in purchasing is preferred. Strong understanding of inventory management principles and practices. Familiarity with production planning processes is a plus. Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers. Strong analytical skills to assess pricing, quality, and supplier performance. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
