Quality Assurance / Quality Control SupervisorLandfill & Environmental ConstructionOrganization Overview (Confidential)An established environmental construction and remediation contractor is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA/QC) Supervisor to support complex construction and remediation projects. The organization works with a range of public and private clients and emphasizes safety, compliance, and high‑quality project delivery.

Position SummaryThe Quality Assurance / Quality Control Supervisor is a full‑time, travel‑based position responsible for managing and overseeing QA/QC activities on assigned construction and environmental remediation projects. Work will primarily involve landfill construction and landfill cap/closure projects at sites located throughout the United States.
This role focuses on ensuring compliance with project plans, specifications, applicable regulations, and industry standards. Responsibilities include field inspections, testing oversight, documentation review, and coordination with construction teams and project stakeholders.
Key ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities may vary depending on project requirements.
Provide QA/QC oversight for landfill construction, landfill cap construction, and related environmental projectsPerform or oversee field density and geotechnical testingManage daily QC activities in alignment with construction schedulesInterpret and apply project plans, specifications, standards, and reference documentsReview construction drawings, shop drawings, and technical submittalsVerify materials, equipment, and workmanship meet contract requirementsMaintain logs for materials receipt, testing, and inspectionsPrepare daily, weekly, and periodic QA/QC reportsComplete inspection and testing documentation accurately and on scheduleConduct field inspections to identify deficiencies or non‑conforming workTrack corrective actions and verify timely resolutionIdentify site safety concerns and coordinate mitigation effortsParticipate in project meetings as requiredCoordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and field personnelMaintain QA/QC plans, logs, and quality recordsPerform punch‑list, pre‑final, and final acceptance inspectionsRequired QualificationsMinimum of 5 years of experience in construction and/or environmental remediationAt least 3 years of QA/QC experienceMinimum of 3 years of QA/QC experience on landfill projects, including at least 1 year on landfill closure or final cover constructionAt least 2 years of experience performing ASTM geotechnical field testing (e.g., soil classification, density, permeability)Ability to obtain and maintain site access for regulated or secured projectsWorking knowledge of construction site safety practicesStrong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skillsEffective written and verbal communication skillsAbility to prepare clear technical reports and interpret technical documentsProficiency with Microsoft Office and common construction‑related softwareAbility to pass background screening and drug testingPreferred QualificationsExperience on federally funded or regulated projectsConstruction Quality Management (CQM) certificationFamiliarity with construction safety and risk management standardsPrior experience as a site superintendent or field supervisor40‑hour
