THINK OUTSIDE. JOB SUMMARY
To ensure that all products shipped to the consumer meet or exceed that consumer's expectations. To aid other departments in the organization in improving the function and performance of all aspects of our business. To audit and verify critical processes in the manufacture of Polaris products. Reporting of audit findings in a professional and accurate manner to facilitate improvement in quality, productivity and safety.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary Purpose Operate and audit production engines through the engine dynamometer (dyno) process to verify performance, durability, emissions, and compliance to engineering and quality specifications while providing actionable feedback to manufacturing and quality teams. Key Responsibilities Operate engine dynamometers to test, monitor, and audit production engines per approved test procedures, verifying performance, functionality, and compliance to engineering and quality specifications. Monitor, record, and analyze dyno test data (torque, horsepower, RPM, temperatures, pressures, fuel flow, fault codes, etc.) to determine pass/fail status and identify trends or abnormal conditions. Serve as a production quality gate through dyno testing, identifying mechanical, assembly, or component‑related nonconformances and initiating containment actions using approved hold tag and escalation procedures. Provide troubleshooting and root‑cause support by communicating dyno findings to Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality teams and recommending process or build improvements based on test results. Maintain accurate dyno and quality documentation, including test records, audit results, and other required quality system records. Inspect and verify materials, components, and assemblies as they relate directly to dyno performance and test failures, ensuring conformance to specifications and tolerances. Maintain dyno test equipment, instrumentation, and inspection tools to ensure safe operation, calibration integrity, and reliable data collection. Support continuous improvement and lean initiatives, specifically related to dyno efficiency, defect prevention, data accuracy, and first‑time quality. Order dyno and QA lab supplies, prepare layouts and documentation, and maintain an organized, audit‑ready dyno workspace. Cross‑train and support other quality functions as needed to ensure coverage and production flow. Follow all safety requirements related to engine testing, fuel systems, high‑temperature components, rotating equipment, and lockout/tagout procedures. Work flexible hours or overtime as required, attend company‑provided training, and perform additional duties as needed while maintaining primary responsibility for dyno operations. Must be available to travel up to two (2) weeks per month for training. Maintain a neat and organized work area. Page 1 of 2 SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE 1. High School Diploma or equivalent required. 2 . Technical diploma or equivalent training preferred. Must be familiar with parts, tolerances, dimensions, problem areas, various inspection equipment, and quality terminology. Must have a performance history of quality conscious work, good attendance and safe work habits. 5. One-year experience with basic gauging equipment (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, etc.) required. 6. Must have experience and a strong working knowledge of the production area this position is assigned to support (i.e. seats, engines, metal fabrication, etc.) 7. Must have flexibility to cover other shifts when needed. Must have a working knowledge of PC software programs (i.e. word processing, spreadsheets, database, email) including the ability to enter and retrieve data. Must have working knowledge of the AS400 system. Must have strong oral and written communication skills. Must be able to manage conflict and solve problems independently. Must have demonstrated organizational and leadership skills. Must be responsible, enthusiastic, trustworthy, and able to work with minimum supervision. Previous inspection experience or related education preferred. Forklift experience and certification preferred or ability to learn.Base Pay Range:
