Job Description

Job Details At Old Chatham Creamery, we depend on our team to produce high quality dairy products with a high level of food safety to ensure customer satisfaction and safety. The QA Tech is an integral part of our food safety team, carrying out daily tasks to ensure proper function of the food safety system. This position will start by training on Day Shift (Mon-Fri, 8-4:30) with a transition to a Weekend schedule once training is complete. Responsibilities
  • Daily monitoring of production spaces for GMP compliance and random inspection of product quality throughout the facility ○ Build food safety culture through open communication with operators
  • Monitor compliance of incoming materials, hold and release as necessary ○ Test incoming milk for antibiotics, chemical composition, microbial quality ○ Verify that all received and stored materials are from approved suppliers
  • Test in-process and finished products, hold and release as necessary ○ Ensure retention samples are being taken according to schedule and organized ○ Perform the following tests for quality: ■ Sensory Analysis ■ Microbial & Chemical analysis ■ Stress testing & Shelf-life verification ○ Maintain COA files with all information, according to customer specifications
  • Verify production records for completeness and file properly ○ Communicate with production staff on issues related to recordkeeping
  • Verify cleaning and sanitation performance via pre-operational inspections of equipment ○ Physcially inspect equipment for residue ○ Perform ATP swabs
  • Assist the Quality Manager with investigations related to non-conformance of product ○ Collaborate in corrective and preventive actions
  • Perform internal audits under supervision of the Quality Manager ○ Assess the physical condition of the plant and report non-conformities
  • Help maintain calibration of all precision equipment

PPS Pay:
$20.00 - $28.00 per hour
