Quality Assurance/Quality Control
  • Job Description St.
Peter Metal Works Position Overview The QA/QC Technician is responsible for inspecting and verifying the quality of parts and finished products throughout the production process at St. Peter Metal Works. This role ensures that all components meet company standards, customer specifications, and applicable codes. The position requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with production personnel to identify and correct issues while supporting continuous improvement efforts. Key Responsibilities Inspection & Quality Control
  • Inspect parts and assemblies produced from laser, plasma table, Prodevco, press brake, and welding operations.
  • Verify weld quality, fit-up, squareness, dimensions, and overall product integrity.
  • Inspect paint quality and final product condition prior to shipment.
  • Ensure all products meet print specifications, tolerances, and quality standards. Documentation & Job Setup
  • Create and maintain job folders for each project.
  • Prepare and manage work orders, QC sheets, and delivery tickets when required.
  • Ensure all required documentation is complete, accurate, and properly filed. Quality Assurance & Compliance
  • Maintain records of defects, non-conformances, and recurring issues.
  • Track and document quality trends to support process improvements.
  • Maintain weld mapping, certifications, and inspection records as required.
  • Ensure compliance with internal procedures and applicable standards. Process Improvement
  • Work with production teams to identify root causes of defects and implement corrective actions.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce errors and improve efficiency.
  • Provide feedback on production processes to improve overall quality. Communication & Accountability
  • Address quality issues directly with production personnel in a professional and constructive manner.
  • Hold team members accountable for quality standards without escalating conflict.
  • Maintain a firm but professional approach in enforcing standards. Qualifications
  • Experience in a metal fabrication or manufacturing environment required.
  • Strong understanding of welding processes and weld inspection.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Knowledge of dimensional inspection, fit-up, and fabrication tolerances.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a production environment. Work Requirements
  • Minimum of 40 hours per week (8 hours per day, 5 days per week).
  • Work performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and fabrication processes.
  • Requires standing, walking, and inspecting parts throughout the facility.
  • PPE required per company policy.
Pay:
$23.05
  • $27.
