Core Values Safety Quality Integrity Respect Teamwork Profit with Purpose Position Overview The Quality Control Manager oversees field quality operations within the Piping Business Unit at the SM1 project site. This position is responsible for ensuring all piping installations, welding activities, and cleanroom construction processes are completed in accordance with ASME B31.3, project specifications, and Stratus Systems quality standards. The Quality Control Manager provides daily leadership and oversight to quality personnel in the field, promotes accountability across project teams, and works closely with operations leadership to maintain the highest levels of workmanship and client satisfaction. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily field quality control operations for process piping and high-vacuum welding activities on assigned projects. Lead and manage QC personnel including QC Leads and QC Technicians to ensure quality expectations are consistently met. Inspect piping systems, welds, and installations for compliance with ASME B31.3 and project specifications. Support cleanroom construction and process piping activities while ensuring adherence to cleanliness and installation standards. Coordinate inspections, turnover documentation, punch-list activities, and quality reporting as required by project teams and clients. Work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, Foremen, and craft personnel to address quality concerns and drive resolution. Promote accountability and enforce company quality standards, procedures, and field expectations. Identify deficiencies, support corrective actions, and help prevent recurring quality issues in the field. Maintain strong communication with field leadership, customers, and quality representatives throughout project execution. Support continuous improvement initiatives related to safety, quality, and field execution processes. Required Qualifications 4+ years of experience in a Quality Control Manager or field quality leadership role within industrial or mechanical construction. Strong understanding of process piping systems, high-purity piping installations, and high-vacuum weld quality requirements. Working knowledge of
ASME B31.3
codes and industrial piping quality standards. Experience working within semiconductor, cleanroom, or advanced manufacturing environments. Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills. Ability to hold field personnel accountable to company standards, procedures, and project specifications. Ability to read and interpret isometric drawings, P&IDs, weld documentation, and construction specifications. Commitment to safety, quality, and team-oriented project execution. Preferred Qualifications CWI certification preferred but not required. Experience supporting semiconductor construction projects or cleanroom process installations. Familiarity with turnover packages, weld tracking, and quality documentation processes. OSHA 30-hour certification preferred. Experience working alongside self-perform mechanical or piping contractors preferred.
