Quality Control Supervisor Position Summary The Quality Control Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the effectiveness of the Quality Management System (QMS) and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the facility. This role oversees daily quality control operations to ensure products consistently meet customer expectations, internal specifications, and applicable regulatory requirements. The Quality Control Supervisor leads inspection and testing activities, manages quality documentation and calibration programs, supports audits and corrective actions, and supervises Quality Control Inspectors. This position reports directly to the Quality Assurance Manager. Key Responsibilities Lead day-to-day quality control operations to ensure in-process and finished products meet specifications, customer requirements, and regulatory standards. Develop, implement, and maintain inspection, sampling, and testing procedures for raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods. Ensure all required quality records, logs, and documentation are accurately completed, maintained, and retained. Supervise, schedule, train, and mentor Quality Control Inspectors while supporting cross-training and coverage needs. Manage internal nonconformance and hold processes, including issue documentation, product disposition coordination, cost tracking, and file maintenance. Collect, analyze, and maintain quality data within company systems and prepare routine and project-specific quality reports. Administer the calibration program for inspection, measurement, and testing equipment, including coordination of internal checks and external calibration services. Maintain calibration records and ensure expired or non-compliant equipment is removed from service. Coordinate and maintain the Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program, including vendor scheduling, audit support, and license/certificate tracking. Participate in internal audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen quality system effectiveness. Support compliance with ISO 14001 andISO 50001
management systems through documentation, audits, corrective actions, and improvement activities. Review and approve incoming raw materials and colorants; maintain retains, sample libraries, receiving records, and required certificates. Coordinate external product and material testing and maintain all associated records and documentation. Support hygiene and product safety programs, including environmental monitoring and swabbing activities as required. Ensure current quality procedures and work instructions are properly posted and available throughout the facility. Support new product launches and projects by establishing inspection plans and communicating quality requirements to production teams. Order and maintain quality-related supplies and equipment through established purchasing procedures. Assist with translation and communication support for employees with limited English proficiency as needed. Promote and uphold company safety, environmental, and compliance standards. Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned. Qualifications & Requirements Minimum 5 years of quality experience within a manufacturing environment. Previous supervisory or team leadership experience preferred. Bilingual in English and Spanish required. Strong understanding of quality systems, inspections, testing procedures, and manufacturing processes. Experience working within regulated environments and formal quality systems such as ISO, GMP, or FDA standards preferred. Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills. Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications, spreadsheets, word processing, and quality data systems. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Quality certifications or industry-related certifications are a plus. Preferred Skills Experience with continuous improvement methodologies. Knowledge of calibration systems and environmental monitoring programs. Familiarity with corrective and preventive action (CAPA) processes. Strong documentation and reporting capabilities. Ability to train, coach, and develop team members effectively. Work Environment Manufacturing plant environment with exposure to production operations. May require standing, walking, lifting, and use of inspection/testing equipment.
