POSITION SUMMARY
As a Quality Technician I, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality standards and safety procedures are followed in our Softgel manufacturing areas and packaging lines. You will be trained in at least one of these areas to provide expertise and support.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Follow all company policies and procedures and complete Trakstar training for job duties, including yearly cGMP and GDP training.
  • Follow and ensure compliance with the quality system and cGMP programs. Be proficient in first article room clearance procedures and proper documentation practices.
  • Perform quality checks and demonstrate proficiency in at least one area: encapsulation or packaging lines, to ensure products meet quality standards. Maintain a basic understanding of PMR and MMR records and verification.
  • Conduct in-process checks based on assigned job duties, including:
  • Organoleptic evaluations
  • Weight measurements
  • Hardness testing
  • Packaging verification
  • AQL inspections
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment. Report any near misses, injuries, or first aid incidents to leadership as required.
  • Be qualified to initiate and perform Metal Detection checks in production and packaging.
  • Perform cleaning verification using:
  • Hygiene swabbing system
  • Protein Swab testing
  • Organic Solution testing
  • Ensure accurate and efficient pass down of information and tasks within the Redzone management system.
  • Perform and ensure proper collection of in-process and finished goods (FG) samples for testing and customer requirements.
  • Ability to efficiently and effectively perform all essential position duties and responsibilities, with or without reasonable accommodation, without posing a direct safety threat to self or others.
  • Maintain a regular and dependable attendance record with few instances of unplanned and/or unexpected absences.
  • Non-supervisory role. Additional Duties
  • Perform other duties as assigned or needed.
  • Reports to the Quality Control Manager.
Responsibility:
Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and monitor all Critical Control Point (CCP) according to the HACCP plan.
Authority:
To stop production lines or place product on "Quality Hold" if food safety risk , sanitation failure, or deviation from critical limits is identified.
Reporting Authority:
Must immediately report any food safety non-conformance or equipment malfunction that threatens product integrity to the SQF Practitioner or QC Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must have an applicable degree and a minimum of 1 year of applicable work experience, or a minimum of 1 year of applicable work experience without a degree.
  • No certifications or licenses required.
  • Moderate math skills required.
  • Moderate reading skills required.
  • Moderate computer skills needed, including basic MS Office skills.
  • Must have moderate language skills.
  • Must have moderate writing skills.

  • Required or recommended protective equipment such as gloves, hearing protection, masks, back belts, or cGMP attire suits
