About the role HealthStar Physicians of Hot Springs is seeking a driven and analytically minded professional to serve at the intersection of quality program management and health information technology. The Quality Improvement & HealthIT Performance Specialist role is critical to our ability to perform well under value-based care agreements, meet payer quality benchmarks, and ensure our clinical teams have the tools, data, and education they need to succeed. You will be embedded in our operations team, working closely with providers, our finance team, and leadership to drive measurable improvement across all practices. Responsibilities Quality Program Management Identify, evaluate, and launch new quality initiatives aligned with payer requirements and CMS guidelines Serve as the primary liaison to payers on quality program enrollment, specifications, and performance expectations Develop clear, practical provider-facing materials — tip sheets, workflow guides, EMR job aids — that translate quality measure requirements into actionable clinical steps Monitor performance continuously through regular reporting; identify gaps and escalate to leadership with recommended interventions Collaborate with finance to track quality-related revenue, reconcile payer scorecards, and support quarterly performance bonus calculations Health Information Technology Support the launch, integration, and optimization of health IT systems. Ensure the EHR (Athena) and ancillary systems are configured to accurately capture and report quality data; proactively identify gaps in documentation workflows Educate staff on new EHR functionality and software integrations Reporting & Performance Analytics Build and maintain actionable reports to reflect performance across departments Produce clean, executive-ready performance summaries for leadership review and quarterly bonus reporting Worksite Onsite in clinics and alongside office managers, providers, and staff to ensure they understand the goals of our quality programs and proper utilization of healthIT platforms. Onsite on main campus working alongside the operations, finance, and leadership team. Qualifications Two years of experience in healthcare quality, health IT, or practice operations role — primary care or family medicine experience strongly preferred Working knowledge of HEDIS, MIPS/MACRA, and other value-based care quality frameworks Hands-on experience with an ambulatory EHR (eClinicalWorks, Epic, Athena, or similar); ability to navigate and troubleshoot at the workflow level. Experience with Athena is highly preferred. Strong report-building skills using practice management, population health, or analytics tools Ability to translate complex quality requirements into clear, provider-friendly educational materials Comfortable working cross-functionally with clinical, operations, and finance teams Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives Experience working with payer quality portals or participating in shared savings / ACO programs Background in clinical quality improvement methodology (e.g., Plan-Do-Study-Act, Lean) Experience creating training materials or supporting provider education in a clinical setting Education Associates degree or higher in HealthIT, Public Health, or Nursing preferred HealthStar Physicians of Hot Springs is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
