JOB SUMMARY/ORGANIZATIONAL IMPACT
: The Quality Inspector is responsible for in-process metrology, reviewing products and materials during manufacturing to ensure customer compliance and conformity. Their duties include measuring objects compared to their intended physical specifications, running quality tests and identifying cosmetic defects and non-conformities. Performing Inspections, FAIR's, capability studies, and validations.
RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Ensuring and developing quality standards for products the company produces Performing metrology to support OQ PQ, FAIR's, validations, and capability studies. Reading blueprints and specifications (GD&T) to ensure conformance Recommending any necessary adjustments and changes to production processes Inspecting and testing the materials and equipment produced. Identify equipment and personnel needs for the department. Using tools and equipment such as calipers, micrometer, CMM, optical comparator, and vision systems to measure products. Identification and segregation of product that don't meet production standards and recommending strategies to improve product quality. Communicate non-conformities to production management. Accepting or rejecting finished products and discussing inspection results with the production team Performing inspections at random to assess product quality, including Tooling and Molding. Promote a safety-oriented culture. Other duties as assigned. Education and Experience High School diploma or GED required. Some college preferred. Experience with quality control techniques and concepts such as Six Sigma, ISO 9000, OQ \ PQ process validation. Experience with measuring devices such as CMMs, vision systems, meters, gauges, computers, calipers, and other measuring instruments and equipment Five years' Quality Engineer or auditor experience with plastics preferred Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Desire and aptitude to develop inspection skills and concepts Analytical and problem-solving skills 2D print and tolerance interpretation Solid understanding and application of GD&T principles Process capability and validation Attention to detail Technical skills and ability to understand blueprints, documents and manuals Knowledge of high level mathematics and computer skills Ability to influence others to follow rules and regulations Strong leadership skills and teamwork mentality Verbal and written communication Familiarity with plastic injection molding and common defects

Remaining in the normal seated position.

Remaining on one's feet in an upright position without moving about, particularly for sustained periods of time.
Occasional Walking:
Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks.
Frequent Lifting:
Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally. (Maximum weight of the object(s) 30 pounds)
Occasional Grasping:
Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and/or palm.
Occasional Repetitive Motions:
Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers for the purpose of picking up items, typing, operating ten-key or performing data entry.

SPECIAL JOB DIMENSIONS
This position is occasionally exposed to the following environmental conditions: subject to air and/or skin exposure to oils and/or other hazardous materials, sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level and one or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system or skin: fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases or poor ventilation This position is constantly protected from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
