Job Description
Position Summary The Quality Inspector II is responsible for inspecting and testing products at various stages of the manufacturing process to ensure compliance with quality standards, customer requirements, and internal specifications. This role plays a critical part in maintaining product reliability through in-process inspections, data analysis, and continuous quality improvement. Key Responsibilities Perform inspections and tests on products at specified stages of production, including dimensional, mechanical, electrical, and material characteristics Record inspection and test data according to inspection plans and apply statistical process control (SPC) methods as required Analyze inspection data and prepare reports identifying compliance or deviations from established standards Recommend improvements to quality or production standards to optimize product quality within equipment capabilities Maintain inspection records and analyze capability data using SPC software Set up and perform destructive and non-destructive testing per blueprints and customer specifications Conduct in-process inspections and first-piece approvals using precision measuring equipment Set up and operate inspection equipment such as CMM, Keyence, OGP, optical comparators, gauges, fixtures, and hand instruments Interpret blueprints and apply GD&T accurately during inspections Inspect raw materials and outsourced services, verifying dimensions and compliance Review quality documentation, specifications, and purchase order requirements Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent required Strong understanding and application of GD&T Experience with CMM, Keyence, OGP , and other inspection equipment preferred Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, email, and manufacturing ERP systems Ability to communicate inspection findings and quality issues effectively with cross-functional teams Willingness to work overtime as needed to support inspection coverage Physical & Working Conditions Manufacturing environment with high noise levels, moving machinery, fumes, dust, and cutting fluids Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, push, and pull throughout the shift Ability to lift and move 10-20 lbs continuously Strong near vision required for reading blueprints, gauges, and precision measuring tools
