Quality Manager Dearborn, MI $110,000 - $150,000 Base Salary + Bonus Key Responsibilities Lead the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the QMS in compliance with IATF 16949 and customer requirements Oversee AIAG Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA), with heavy focus on PFMEA and Control Plans Drive robust CAPA processes emphasizing machine/process root causes rather than additional audits Partner closely with production teams on the shop floor to improve process execution and quality performance Develop practical, operator-friendly procedures and work instructions Lead internal and external audits and serve as Management Representative Train, coach, and develop quality technicians and production staff Collaborate with customers and suppliers on quality issues and performance Champion LEAN and continuous improvement initiatives Must-Have Qualifications & Experience 5+ years of QMS leadership experience in manufacturing Strong working knowledge ofIATF 16949
(Internal Auditor certification is a significant plus) Proven proficiency in AIAG Core Tools, especially PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, and MSA Background in metal processing, stamping, or flat metal rolling (highly preferred) Hands-on mechanical aptitude and strong shop-floor leadership presence Excellent communication skills - able to effectively engage operators, engineers, and senior leadership High energy level and a driver mindset with a track record of implementing lasting improvements What Sets Candidates Apart Demonstrated ability to leave a legacy of sustainable quality improvements Analytical problem-solving with a machine/equipment focus Experience in fast-paced, lean/start-up-like manufacturing environments Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel LEAN or continuous improvement experience Team Structure Reports to: General Manager Direct report: One Quality Technician (with potential to grow the team) Works closely with Operations, Maintenance, and EngineeringSimilar remote jobs
