Quality Manager

The Quality Manager is responsible for overseeing the Company's quality system and guiding all employees to work towards company objectives and goals. This position deploys management systems for quality improvement (for example: quality policy, continuous improvement strategies, problem identification, analysis, reporting and corrective action systems) and carries out all individual duties and responsibilities in accordance with the requirements of

ISO/TS16949.

Reports to: Plant Operations Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Supplier Management Manage methodologies for evaluation. Implement supplier evaluation system to certify/qualify supplier, and document these ratings. Assist supplier to achieve quality system requirements. Request/evaluate PPAP from subcontractors. Initiate corrective action requests for subcontractors when product quality is unacceptable. Quality Audits Perform internal audits. Perform subcontractor auditing to quality systems supplier requirements. Serve as a lead auditor for audit planning, execution, and corrective action. Statistical Applications Implement and maintain statistical process for critical dimensions and specifications defined in customer's blue prints. Ensure special characteristic symbols are included for process steps affecting special characteristics in control plan, FMEAs, and process flow diagrams. Track and launch action plan for the continuous improvement of special characteristics. If needed, issue corrective action requests for investigation to increase process capability. registration and surveillance audits. Schedule, lead, and document the management review meeting.

Metrology / Laboratory

Supervise CMM layout personnel, and ensure layouts are performed correctly and timely. Monitor equipment and department performance. Assure in-house calibrations are performed. Verify if subcontracted suppliers are certified. Have Measuring Systems Analysis performed on gages as needed. Monitor/guide laboratory technician with calibration of gages. Order and purchase gages. Supervise laboratory processes such as metal analysis and control of temperature/humidity. Corrective Action System Initiate and follow up on corrective action when required. Issue RMA (Return Material Authorization) for any customer returns. Assure MRB (Material Review Board) tags for returned/in-house nonconforming material are issued and placed on product. Initiate preventive action to be taken through CAR systems as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

An understanding of die casting equipment, processes, and materials is essential. Knowledgeable with Zeiss (Calypso) and/or Brown & Sharpe (PC DMIS) CMMs Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills are necessary to perform root-cause analysis for production issues and implement corrective actions. 2+ Year degree in an engineering-related field Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field is preferred
