The Receiver is responsible for all functions, date entry, and paperwork related to data entry. The Receiver will maximize sales potential through effective and proper procedures for receiving all products entering the store. This will include verifying actual product against packing slips, confirming product integrity, and checking product temperatures as needed. The Receiver must initial and code invoices, log invoices, and distribute to appropriate departments. Receivers are also responsible for maintaining cleanliness of the receiving area.Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:
1. Prepare the space to receive, organize by rotating your back stock and communicate what's arriving. 2. Physically receive product (use all your senses, verify shelf life) 3. Develop a rapport with the delivery person. 4. Verify the paper invoice (details accurate, money accurate, paper matches physical product) 5. Solve any invoice issues (Green slip time) Put away orders in a timely fashion. This means paying special attention to perishables and putting these items away first. Work directly with the grocery buyer to determine daily priorities for putting away orders. Manage spoils and returned products by always pulling out-of-date products on time and placing them in the proper place. Inform grocery buyers of all out-of-date products. Assist the grocery buyer in keeping the backstock areas clean and organized. Provide all customers with excellent , prompt and courteous service . Assist customers on the floor in finding certain items or with questions. To be able to answer questions from staff and customers, develop and maintain a working knowledge of the products we have in stock, the delivery schedule, and any out-of-stock items as they appear. Keep abreast of changes in product lines, location of products, discontinued items and new items. General Professional / Service Skills- Possess natural and exceptional customer service skills. Providing great customer service is wired into DNA.

Safety and Sanitation :
1. Directs line management and assists in maintaining store environment and security. 2. Practices proper lifting techniques and personal safety precautions. 3. Maintains a clean, organized work area at all times. 4. Maintains neat professional appearance and observes personal cleanliness rules at all times. 5. Adheres to state and local health and safety regulations. 6. Maintains complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment; use equipment and tools only as intended, properly and safely. 7. Practices proper food handling including sanitizing of work surfaces, proper hand-washing, FIFO, etc. Protects company assets at all times Watches store floor at all times for potential hazards (spills, debris, fallen items) and takes action as necessary or informs store manager. Keeps store floors clean at all times, with specific job assignments being assigned by the store manager. Interpersonal 1. Listen and communicate well with staff, managers, and guests. 2. Accept constructive criticism well. Provides constructive criticism in an appropriate manner. 3. Works well under pressure and maintains a positive and productive energy level. 4. Shows professionalism and poise when dealing with guests and co-workers. 5. Demonstrates a sense of urgency and a commitment to providing excellent product and service to our guests. Administrative 1. Able to work Weekends and Weekdays, Nights and Mornings. 2. Adheres to all Bi-Rite policies, rules and regulations as outlined in the Bi-Rite Staff Guide. 3. Takes initiative to find work to do during downtime.Additional Responsibilities:
Six months' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. English language skills (written and oral) required; professional communication skills required. Continuous standing, walking, bending, reaching, sitting and carrying loads between 15-50 lbs; occasional climbing, stooping, twisting and fine manipulation; occasional environmental exposure to cold, heat and water; and rare exposure to dust and fumes. Use of machinery including, but not limited to, dollies, cash registers, computers, printers and other office equipment.NOTE:
