Job Description
The Receptionist provides front desk and reception functions for the community. Duties and Responsibilities Answers telephones and greets visitors to the community in a professional, friendly and welcoming manner. Interacts with residents and staff in a professional and friendly manner at all times and possesses compassion for seniors when appropriate. Transfers calls and takes messages accurately. Assists with resident activities and/or scheduling transportation for residents. Performs data entry as needed. May sort and distribute incoming mail. Ensures all guests and vendors in the building have signed in. Keeps reception area neat, clean and organized. Assists with marketing and mailings. Assists various departments with office duties as needed. Promotes and maintains positive relationships with co-workers, residents, family members and guests. Follows all OSHA, Fire, Health Department and safety requirements. Other duties as assigned. Position requires sitting, standing and walking, sometimes for extended periods.
Overnight Receptionist:
Carries cordless phone and answers incoming calls to the community in a helpful, friendly manner. Answers questions, provides assistance, or takes and delivers messages accurately. Responds to resident requests for assistance or emergency situations. Interacts with residents and staff in a professional, friendly and compassionate manner at all times. Cleans and sanitizes common areas of the community. Washes, dries, and folds resident laundry and/or bed linens. Ensures all doors to the community are locked and secured. Understands emergency procedures and MSDS procedures for all chemicals used. Understands procedures for blood removal. Follows all OSHA, Fire, Health Department and safety requirements. Demonstrates high standards of ethics and personal accountability. Other duties as assigned. Job requires walking and standing for extended periods of time. Push, pull, lift up to 50 lbs. Qualifications One year reception experience. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Excellent customer service skills. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Competent in organization and time management. Must be computer literate. Ability to work well under stress, complete assignments accurately, and work independently. Effectively communicate in English with residents and other employees. Demonstrate desire to be a team player. Regular attendance is required. Working Conditions May require working with challenging residents. Requires interaction with co-workers, residents, families, and vendors. Occasional weekend, evening, night and holiday work if needed. Possible exposure to communicable diseases and infections. Physical Requirements Walk; sit; stand, sometimes for extended periods of time. Reach with hands and arms. Stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Talk and hear.
