DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS
The Recreation Aide assists in organizing, promoting, planning, and conducting various activities, recreational programs and/or special events based on analysis of the Community. This position involves considerable direct and indirect contact with the public and other departments in the Community.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
 Assist in planning and organizing activities/programs under the supervision of the Recreation Coordinator.  Assist in facilitating/implementing daily program activities for all age groups.  Assist in administrative tasks such as making copies, fliers, filing, signage, and requesting quotes from vendors.  Assist in setting up and preparing equipment/supplies for program activities/events.  Assist in recordkeeping/documentation of all participants who participate in activities on a daily basis.  Assist in maintaining a clean facility and keeping all areas and supplies/equipment disinfected.  Assist in transportation participants to events and activities, which includes keeping the tribal vehicle maintained and clean.  Assist in inventorying all equipment and supplies; Assist in shopping for equipment and supplies.  Perform other related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
 Knowledge of facilities and equipment to assist with recreational activities.  Knowledge of recreation concepts.  Knowledge of a wide variety of recreational activities for kids and adults.  Knowledge of the Gila River Indian Community.  Ability to work with all ages and gender.  Ability to keep inventory of equipment and supplies.  Ability to record/document daily participation of participants.
