Full-Time Referral Coordinator Highland Medical Center | Monterey, Virginia Highland Medical Center is seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Referral Coordinator to support patient care by coordinating referrals, diagnostic testing, and specialty appointments. This role is essential in ensuring patients receive timely services and providers receive necessary results to support clinical decision-making. The ideal candidate is organized, collaborative, and committed to providing excellent patient service while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy.

What You'll Do:

Coordinate and track referrals to outside providers and specialists Fax referrals and orders to appropriate facilities and monitor scheduling completion Schedule diagnostic imaging and obtain insurance prior authorizations Communicate with patients, providers, and outside offices regarding referral status Track pending referrals and follow up to obtain results Attach received test results and route to appropriate provider Enter alerts into EHR recall reminder system when needed Ensure compliance with applicable laws, policies, and patient confidentiality requirements

What We're Looking For:

High school diploma or equivalent. Previous healthcare-related experience preferred. BLS certification required (training provided if needed).
