Overview Join our dynamic team as a Regional Class A Company Driver and take charge of delivering freight across designated regions with energy and professionalism! In this vital role, you'll operate tractor-trailers with automatic transmissions, and handle a diverse range of cargo such as refrigerated goods, dry goods, and freight requiring specialized handling with the use of an electric pallet jack. Your expertise will ensure timely deliveries while maintaining safety and compliance standards. Duties Safely operate Class A commercial trucks with automatic transmissions across regional routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations Unload freight efficiently using an electric pallet jack when necessary for Smart & Final stores Transport various types of cargo including refrigerated items, groceries and freight requiring specialized handling Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with DOT regulations Plan optimal routes for timely deliveries while managing schedules and addressing any route changes or delays proactively Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, deliveries, and vehicle maintenance records in accordance with company policies Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate pickups, deliveries, and resolve issues promptly Skills Proven experience driving tractor-trailers with automatic transmissions in a regional setting Strong knowledge of freight handling procedures for refrigerated trailers, dry vans and other specialized loads Skilled in unload operations utilizing electric pallet jack equipment when applicable Excellent route planning abilities to maximize efficiency and meet delivery deadlines Familiarity with truck driving safety protocols, DOT regulations, and hours-of-service requirements Effective communication skills for coordinating with dispatchers, customers, and team members .58 CPM / $100 per backhaul / $20 per stop after the 1st stop / $25 per hour for mechanical delays / $25 per hour for detention after the 2nd hour Embark on a career that combines your passion for driving with the opportunity to make a tangible impact!
