$25.00 per hour 10 Month Position, 35-40 hours per week
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent Bachelor's degree preferred in Psychology, Education, or Applied Behavior Analysis RBT Certification (or a willingness to become certified)
Position Summary:
The Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT) is a Professional Certification in behavior analysis. The RBT will provide clinical skills instruction and implement behavior reduction protocols using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis to students with developmental disabilities in the school setting. The RBT will collect and interpret data on programs, support parent and staff training, and assist the Psychologist, BCBA and/or Special Education teacher with clinical assessments as needed. The RBT must maintain certification with the Behavior Analytic Certification Board. The RBT will receive ongoing supervision by a qualified RBT supervisor, adhere to ethics, and renew RBT certification annually.
Minimum Qualifications/Skills and Knowledge Requirements:
Provide direct student care in 1:1 and group settings utilizing a combination of intensive teaching and natural environment training arrangements to teach communication, social, and daily living skills. Follow prescribed behavioral skill acquisition and maladaptive behavior reduction protocols Collect, record, and summarize data on observable student behavior Facilitate behavior change by modifying maladaptive behaviors and replacing them with appropriate behavior Assist with parent and/or caregiver training in line with student's individualized treatment and behavior reduction protocols Participate in counseling and meeting sessions Assist the Special Education Teacher and BCBA with communicating effectively with parents and/or caregivers regarding student progress Assist with the delivery of behavior analysis services and practices to assist children with day-to-day tasks and nurture a child's social abilities Assist with skill acquisition and behavior reduction assessments Work with a team of individuals with skill acquisition, behavior reduction assessments and preparing student materials Utilize safe and appropriate handling procedures when working with students Maintain student confidentiality Maintain a clean, safe and organized work and therapy environment Maintain and acquire technical knowledge by attending required training sessions. Commitment to ongoing training and development as it relates to clinical skills, professional development, ethics, technology and training in order to perform job responsibilities to required standards Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications-Knowledge, Skills and Ability:
Ability to interpret and implement clinical protocols and written plans. Commitment to maintain student confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA and FERPA laws. Excellent written and verbal communication. Ability to adhere to organizational policies and procedures and abide by code of ethics as indicated by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board. Ability to establish effective working relationships with others and to deal effectively with the public. Ability to accept constructive feedback and develop knowledge and skill sets accordingly. Effective time management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks at one time. Must be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting, standing, etc.) for extended periods of time. Ability to reach and bend, push/pull and/or lift Must be willing and able to restrain/hold/transport and utilize quick body movements as indicated in the Behavior Intervention Plan in the course of working with children with challenging behavior Ability to concentrate and manage some interruptions, pressure and changing priorities. Memory to perform multiple and diverse tasks and the ability to remember information that has been previously learned. Ability to use knowledge and reasoning to solve routine problems. Ability to learn and apply new information, technology and legislation applicable to departmental activities. Ability to distinguish between public and confidential information and handle appropriately.
