Job Description
Job Summary Join our fun, compassionate pediatric dental team as a Registered Dental Hygienist , where your skills in preventive care and patient education will help children build healthy smiles for life. In this role, you'll provide gentle, comprehensive hygiene services for infants, children, and teens while helping create a positive, stress-free dental experience for every family who walks through our doors. Responsibilities Provide gentle dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, fluoride treatments, and sealants appropriate for pediatric patients. Perform thorough patient assessments, reviewing medical history, growth/development considerations, and vital information to ensure safe care. Educate children and parents on brushing, flossing, nutrition, habits, and preventive care in a fun, age-appropriate way. Support the dentist during exams and procedures using efficient four-handed dentistry while prioritizing child comfort and positive behavior guidance. Take diagnostic X-rays following pediatric radiation safety and infection control protocols. Accurately document findings and treatment notes in EMR systems-Dentrix Ascend. Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming clinical environment that meets OSHA, HIPAA, and infection-control standards. Help create a cheerful, supportive atmosphere that helps children feel safe, confident, and excited about their dental visits. Requirements Current Registered Dental Hygienist license in accordance with state regulations. Experience in a dental office required; pediatric experience strongly preferred (or passion for working with kids). Familiarity with dental software such as Dentrix. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, preventive care, infection control, and radiography techniques. Excellent communication skills with children, parents, and team members. Positive, patient, and energetic personality with a commitment to exceptional family-centered care. Dedication to maintaining HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.
