Registered Dental Hygienist Full time or part time

Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to promote optimal oral health. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to develop personalized care plans. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care strategies, and post-treatment instructions to enhance their understanding and engagement. Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure smooth workflow and patient comfort. Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records, treatment notes, and medical histories within EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Adhere strictly to infection control protocols using aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures to safeguard patients and staff. Review medical records for completeness and accuracy; assist with medical coding for billing purposes when necessary. Support the dental team with chairside assisting, including preparing instruments and materials needed for various procedures. Uphold patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA standards while providing compassionate care tailored to pediatric dentistry or general dentistry needs. Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice. Proven experience working in dental clinics or dental offices, preferably with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry. Experience in pediatric dentistry is a plus; familiarity with pediatric-specific procedures is highly desirable. Skilled in taking vital signs, medical imaging (X-rays), and performing patient assessments with attention to detail. Excellent communication skills for educating patients of all ages about oral health practices and treatment plans. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques for optimal patient care.
