Description Job Title:
Registered Dietician Job Description Summary In collaboration with the care team, the registered dietitian is responsible for providing quality nutrition care for adult and pediatric patients. This position requires both direct patient care and indirect activities. Direct patient care includes providing counseling and medical nutrition therapy for patients through assessment, nutrition care planning, implementation and evaluation with the goal of restoring or maintaining optimal nutritional status. Indirect activities include participating in quality improvement, development of nutrition therapy protocols, public speaking and creating nutrition education materials. Responsibilities Perform nutrition screening, evaluation, and assessment of patients Demonstrates knowledge of evidence based nutritional practices for optimal nutrition, as well as appropriate medical nutrition therapy for individuals with a diagnosed medical condition Provide individual medical nutrition therapy and nutrition care to meet patient goals through both in-person and virtual platforms Counseling and providing education to patients and families, reinforcing the behavioral goals to meet recommendations Develop educational materials and tools: responsible for developing and delivering scalable nutrition programming (group classes, workshops, digital content) Charting in electronic health records documenting and monitoring patient progress in accordance with policies and procedures Collaborate with MDs, NPs, PT, and Health Coach to align care plans Act as a resource for staff members and provide nutrition information as needed Participate as a nutrition counseling provider in corporate wellness programs offered outside of IBJI Perform job functions with focus on customer service excellence and teamwork to provide the highest quality care to patients Maintain a clean and safe work environment Other duties as assigned Requirements Requirements Education Bachelor Degree in Nutrition or Dietetics Certifications/Licensure Registered Dietitian (RD), Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist (LDN) in the state of Illinois Current registration with Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) Experience Experience with medical nutrition therapy Experience with program development preferred Experience with EPIC preferred Technical Skills Proficient typing skills (50 wpm) Proficiency in telehealth platforms Ability to develop digital education materials (presentations, handouts, program content) Microsoft Office Specialist certifications Soft Skills Possess problem solving skills and the ability to work independently with flexibility Strong written, verbal and communication skills Ability to develop effective relationships with other healthcare providers Physical Requirements Stand or sit for extended periods of time Ability to be standing and sitting for sequences of time greater than 30 minutes Ability to work on a computer for lengthy times during the day This description is intended to provide only basic guidelines for meeting job requirements. Base salary offers for this position may vary based on factors such as location, skills and relevant experience.
