Registered Nurse 1 (NY HELPS)

The duties that the incumbent of the vacancy will be expected to perform. Duties Description The Registered Nurse 1 will coordinate, direct and provide professional nursing care to residents of the Nursing Home under the direction and supervision of the Nurse Administrator.

Minimum Qualifications Candidates must possess a license and current registration as a registered professional nurse in New York State.

Reassignment:

Current New York State Department of Health S Veterans Home at Oxford employee with permanent or contingent permanent status as a Registered Nurse 1, Grade 18.

Transfer:

Current New York State employee with one or more years of permanent, contingent-permanent, or 55 b/c service in a position eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law, to a Registered Nurse 1, Grade 18.

Preferred Qualifications:

The preferred candidate would have experience in a Long-Term Care setting with a geriatric population. Additional comments regarding the vacancy. Additional Comments Candidates must possess a license and current registration as a registered professional nurse in New York State. This is a Float charge/supervision position working 1 weekend a monthOne permanent, competitive, full-time appointment, or non-competitive full-time appointment via HELPS. Degrees awarded from educational institutions outside of the United States, or its territories must be independently verified for equivalency.

The posted salary range ($96,174 - $105,138) includes statutory hiring rate and an increased hiring salary of $9,196, plus an additional geographic pay differential of $20,000. There is also Shift Differential pay increase (Evening Shift 7%, Night Shift 10%). If applicable, the inconvenience pay program of $575 per year will be paid to employees who work four (4) hours or more between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. Hours worked between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on an overtime basis are not included for Inconvenience Pay.
