34.5 Hours Position Summary A respected healthcare organization in New York is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to support its Adult Inpatient Behavioral Health unit. This opportunity is ideal for a compassionate and clinically skilled behavioral health nurse who thrives in a fast-paced psychiatric care environment and is committed to delivering exceptional patient-centered care. The RN will work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive psychiatric nursing services for adult patients experiencing acute mental health conditions. Key Responsibilities Deliver direct patient care within an adult inpatient behavioral health setting Perform ongoing mental and physical health assessments Monitor, document, and report patient status changes accurately Administer medications and therapeutic treatments as prescribed Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans Respond effectively to behavioral crises and psychiatric emergencies Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, case managers, and healthcare staff Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation Promote patient safety and ensure compliance with facility standards and protocols Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge processes Required Qualifications Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN/ADN) from an accredited nursing program Minimum of two (2) years of Behavioral Health nursing experience Active New York State RN License Current AHA BLS Certification Strong communication, crisis intervention, and de-escalation skills Ability to work efficiently in an inpatient psychiatric environment Preferred Qualifications Prior experience in adult inpatient psychiatric or behavioral health units Knowledge of behavioral health documentation systems and EMR platforms Strong interdisciplinary collaboration and patient advocacy abilities Ability to manage high-acuity situations with professionalism and compassion For more details contact at hdavda@navitashealth.com or Call / Text at 516-862-1169.
