ROANE GENERAL HOSPITAL
  • Full-Time Registered Radiology Technologist Roane General Hospital in Spencer, WV a 60 bed Critical Access Hospital with 35 SNF/ICF beds, 25 acute care beds, Level IV Trauma Emergency Department, three Rural Health Clinics and a walk-in clinic is currently seeking applicants for a Full
  • Time Registered Radiology CT Technologist Shift 7 pm
  • 7am.
SUMMARY Operates computed tomography (CT) scanner to produce cross-sectional radiographs of patient's body for diagnostic purposes by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Demonstrates knowledge and skills to provide developmentally appropriate assessment care and treatment, as defined by the department, for neonates, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Positions and immobilizes patient on examining table, using supportive devices to obtain precise patient position and following protocols specified by Radiologist. Administers contrast media orally or assists Physician in intravenous administration. Enters data such as type of scan requested, slice thickness, scan time, and other technical data into computer. Starts CT scanner to scan designated anatomical area of patient. Talks to patient over intercom system and observes patient through window of control room to monitor patient safety and comfort. Views images of organs or tissue on video display screen to ensure quality of pictures. Starts camera to produce radiographs. Evaluates radiographs, video tape, and computer generated information for technical quality. Works well with others in a team effort. Participates in the CQI & Performance Improvement Process. Demonstrates awareness of and compliance with hospital policies and procedures, assumes responsibility to learn new policies and procedures. Assumes responsibility for professional and personal development, self learning needs are communicated to appropriate resources. Maintains a safe environment for self and others. Tactful and effective communication is maintained. Work performance demonstrates competency of concepts and skills. Must be able to take call and be able work alone.
QUALIFICATIONS
Applicant must be able to work in a team environment to promote a positive experience for patients. Applicant is responsible for performing exams according to protocol and professional standards. Applicants must have strong computer skills, strong work ethic, be a motivated self-starter with the ability to multitask in a fast pace setting. Applicant must be able to work a flexible schedule including all shifts, weekends, and holidays. Applicant must be licensed in the state of West Virginia and hold a current Certification in ARRT. Post-primary certification in CT is preferred but will train a willing candidate.
