Job Title:
Sleep Technician Position Overview:
As a Sleep Technologist, you will perform comprehensive polysomnographic testing and analysis. Your primary responsibilities will include preparing patients for sleep studies, applying electrodes and sensors, monitoring sleep patterns, and assisting with therapeutic interventions.
Pay Ranges:
Registered $32-45 per hour depending upon your years of experience. Level 1
  • one-3 years $32 per hour Level 2
  • 3-5 years $36
  • 38 per hour Level 3
  • 5 plus years $40
  • 45 Bonus This position is being offered a $1,000 dollar sign on bonus.
To be eligible you must complete 90 days of continuous employment, with the first half received after 45 days and the second half after completing the 90 days. Duties and Responsibilities Review patient history, physical information, medication details, procedure requests, and study protocols. Complete and verify documentation related to sleep studies accurately and efficiently. Explain the sleep study procedure to patients and orient them to the sleep center environment. Apply electrodes and sensors on patients according to the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) standards and protocols. Perform appropriate physiologic calibrations to ensure proper signals and troubleshoot and make adjustments if necessary. Assist with routine positive airway pressure (PAP) mask fitting for patients. Follow procedural protocols for various sleep studies, such as CPAP titration, baseline polysomnography (PSG), ASV (adaptive servo ventilation) titrations. Acquire polysomnographic data while monitoring study tracing to ensure artifact-free signals and make adjustments as necessary. Document routine observations, sleep staging, clinical events, and other significant information to facilitate scoring and interpretation of polysomnographic results. Implement appropriate interventions for patient safety and therapeutic purposes, such as positive airway pressure (PAP) therapy and oxygen administration. Score sleep/wake stages, clinical events, and other parameters according to AASM guidelines. Generate reports, type documents, file records, and deliver results as needed. Troubleshoot technical issues related to equipment and software. Ensure compliance with safety and infection control guidelines and standards. Perform routine and complex equipment care, maintenance, and cleaning procedures. Record charges accurately for billing purposes. Obtain necessary continuing education credits to maintain credentialing and remain current with CPR certification. Education and Qualifications Current RPSGT required. CPR certification. Good judgment and the ability to handle emergency medical situations appropriately. Required Experience ASV Titration Preferred Experience Transcutaneous Continas Monitor (TCM)
