Job Description

Job Summary/Purpose:
The Resale Shop Associate supports the daily operations of the resale shop by delivering excellent customer service, processing sales transactions, and maintaining a clean, organized, and well-stocked store. This role also assists with receiving and processing donations and contributes to advancing the mission of the Ohio's Hospice through positive customer and donor interactions. Key Responsibilities Greet and assist customers and donors in a friendly, helpful, and professional manner. Operate the cash register, handle transactions accurately, and balance the register as needed. Answer questions about merchandise, pricing, store policies, and donation guidelines. Accept donations from the public, provide receipts as needed, and thank donors for their support. Sort, inspect, and prepare donated items for sale according to store standards. Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming sales floor, donation area, and checkout space. Stock shelves, arrange displays, and replenish merchandise as needed. Assist with opening and closing procedures. Support special sales, promotions, and store events. Work collaboratively with staff and volunteers to ensure smooth daily operations. Fulfills other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Previous retail or customer service experience preferred but not required Strong communication and interpersonal skills Basic math skills and attention to detail Ability to handle cash and operate a point-of-sale system Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team Ability to stand for extended periods and lift/move light to moderate items
